This is the time to begin courting your public officials (council members, assembly members, borough presidents) for 2018 funding…get them to your sites. If you are in Brooklyn, here is a meeting you might want to attend
The Office of the Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams, in collaboration with the School Construction Authority, is hosting a school capital budget overview for upcoming fiscal year 2018, on Thursday, November 17 at 4:30pm at the Flatbush YMCA (1401 Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11210, corner of Rogers and Flatbush Avenues). Topics covered will include, but are not limited to: Brooklyn Borough President initiatives, eligibility criteria, the application process and best practices to partner with the SCA.

For fiscal year 2017, Borough President Adams allocated close to $26M to nearly 150 schools throughout Brooklyn, focusing on an equitable distribution of capital as well as STEM/STEAM initiatives.  The Borough President believes that the educational opportunities we create in Brooklyn should reflect the knowledge and skills necessary for the jobs of today and tomorrow. The allocations were delivered as part of a competitive and vigorous application process.  Attached please find our press release announcing our fiscal year 2017 school awards.

If you have questions regarding FY 2018 capital funding or want to build capacity for future capital budget cycles, you are encouraged to attend.

We look forward to our continued collaboration with the schools’ parents, administrators, students and educators.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns, and kindly RSVP to

Have a great day.

Thank you,
