With the continuous increase of environmental issues across today’s headlines, these fields are gaining momentum on a global scale and like our specialisms, we too are growing as a business. Eunomia currently has around 70 employees worldwide, working across a range of offices throughout the UK and Europe, New York, USA and Auckland, NZ.

Eunomia is looking for a dynamic Consultant to join its small team in New York City. The successful candidate will be educated to at least degree level and have at least 3 years’ experience in the waste; environmental services; or sustainability fields. They will be experienced at managing projects, have excellent written and oral skills and be flexible to taking on a variety of roles to help grow and develop the business.

Brooklyn, New York City, USA.
Full time, contract to 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Summer Fridays end June to Labor Day (9 weeks) 40 hours per week.

Culinary Program Associate

The Culinary Program Associate position works a flexible, 25-30 hours per week Monday – Friday schedule in a positive work environment.   The ideal candidate will have office management experience. This is a client interaction and administrative position that is critical to the daily operations of the agency. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills and enjoys interacting with a diverse group of clients, interns and youth.

This position is ideal for someone with strong business and administrative skills interested in segueing into non-profit management and/or culinary nutrition education. Should be passionate about food and cooking, comfortable in a dynamic environment where priorities can change quickly, and excited to help build a strong, fun, team-centered environment.

Self-motivation and a positive, can-do attitude are essential for this role that could become be a springboard to other roles. Our past employees have gone on to high level positions in test kitchens, editorial departments and Ivy League level academia in nutrition, from our tutelage. The Culinary Program Assistant will report directly to the Founder.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills, especially with Mac OS, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Close attention to detail
  • QuickBooks proficiency, or the willingness to be trained
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as the first point of contact for clients
  • A passion for food and nutrition
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver in a timely manner
  • Great attitude & team player
  • Experience with marketing and PR in social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Tumblr
  • Experience using HTML or a CMS to make simple web updates
  • Proficiency with Photoshop and Illustrator a plus but not required

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the FCP founder with daily tasks and projects
  • Be quick to learn cutting-edge software used for creating distance-learning training modules
  • Interfacing with clients to provide excellent customer support and to schedule trainings & equipment ordering
  • General administrative duties – filing, organization, answering phones & scheduling events.
  • In Quick Books, writing checks, maintaining accounts receivable and payable, processing invoices
  • Managing FamilyCook’s media and communication (two websites, tumblr blog and social media)
  • Ensuring continuity of company insurance policies, online service subscriptions, and regular payroll ordering
  • Occasional event planning and support

 LUNGS (Loisadia United Neighborhood Gardens) is a network of 50 communitygardens on Manhattan’s Lower East Side.(LUNGSNYC.ORG)

We looking for someone to help supervise and instruct a group of high school
students who will be working in the community gardens.
This year LUNGS will employ 12 students and two supervisors. Supervisors work
with a wide variety of community gardeners and will need good communication
skills.
The work is basic gardening and working on projects in the gardens, rebuilding
pathways, building benches etc.  But LUNGS also seeks to educate the kids
about environmental issues, basic botany and sustainability practices.
This is the fifth year we have worked with the New York City’s Summer Youth
Employment Program(SYEP). The job is outdoors and hands-on, it is also
rewarding and fun.
The job is 30 hours a week, for 6 weeks, July 5 to August 18, the salary is
$500 a week.
